1Getting Started
How do I start a custom order?
Send us your artwork — or just a sketch or an idea — with the quantity and the size you have in mind. We come back with a quote on the metal, the process and the finish. Once the price works for you, we move to artwork proof and sampling.
Do you offer design help if I don’t have finished artwork?
Yes, and for standard products it is free. Send a logo, a sketch or a written idea and our team will evaluate it and optimize it for mass production — line weights, enamel areas, relief depth. You get 2D mockups with unlimited revisions before you pay anything. 3D modeling and designs with special requirements are charged separately, and we confirm the fee with you before we start.
What file formats do you accept?
AI, PDF, CDR, PNG and JPG all work, and a clear photo of a hand-drawn sketch is enough to start. Vector files give the cleanest result, and we can redraw a raster file as vector for you.
Should I use the online calculator or ask for a manual quote?
The calculator is built for quick estimates on standard specifications. For large quantities or complex structures — hollow designs, moving parts, multi-piece assemblies — a manual quote lets us optimize the material, the craftsmanship and the production plan. That usually means a more accurate price, and often a better one on bulk orders.
Can I change the design after I have placed the order?
Tell us before production starts and we will accommodate what we can. Once the mold is cut, changes to the shape or the relief mean a new mold; plating color, enamel colors and packaging can still be adjusted at that stage.
How is my design and IP protected?
We guarantee 100% confidentiality. Without your explicit permission your designs and artwork are never shared or used for any other commercial purpose, and a confidentiality agreement is available on request.
2Products & Materials
What metals do you work in?
Zinc alloy, brass, iron, copper, aluminum and stainless steel are the base metals we cast and strike. Gold, silver, bronze, nickel and black nickel are plating finishes applied on top of those. Zinc alloy suits detailed 3D shapes, iron keeps the cost down on flat designs, and brass takes the crispest struck detail.
Are you a factory or a trading company?
We are a manufacturer. Hesank was founded in 1996 in Wenzhou, China, and mold-making, die casting, stamping, polishing, plating, enamel filling and packing all happen in our own factory. That is how we hold both the lead time and the price, and why a technical question can be answered the same day instead of relayed.
What finishes and colors can I have?
Polished, matte, antique and sandblasted surfaces; gold, silver, bronze, nickel and black nickel plating; soft enamel, hard enamel and printed color matched to a Pantone reference.
Can the pieces be treated for outdoor durability?
Yes. Thicker gauges, harder plating and an epoxy or e-coat top layer all help against abrasion, sweat and moisture. Tell us where the piece will be worn or used and we will recommend the combination.
Can you make the products in eco-friendly materials?
Yes. We work in recyclable metals and can supply nickel-free and RoHS/REACH compliant options, together with recycled paper packaging.
Can I reorder the same design later?
Yes. We keep your artwork, your mold and the approved golden sample on file for five years, and reorders inside that period carry no further mold fee.
3Pricing, MOQ & Mold Fee
What is the MOQ and how does pricing work?
Standard MOQ is 50 pcs per design. Below that the unit price rises, because the mold and the machine set-up cost the same whatever the run length. Pricing is tiered — the larger the run, the lower the unit price.
How is the price of a custom product calculated?
Six things drive it: size, thickness, material, plating, the number of enamel or printed colors, and quantity. Packaging affects it too. Send us those details — or just your artwork, and we will work them out from it. You get a firm quote back, usually the same working day.
How is the mold fee charged?
It is one-time. If a single order of a design reaches 10,000 pcs or more, we waive the mold fee. If you order the same design in several batches and the total reaches 10,000 pcs or more, we refund the mold fee you have already paid. We also store your mold free for five years — reorders within that period pay no mold fee again.
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Yes. Pricing is tiered, so the unit price falls as the quantity rises. Tell us the quantity you are working towards and we will show you where the price breaks fall.
What does a sample cost?
For a custom design the one-time mold fee covers the sampling, and you cover the courier charge for sending the sample out. The fee is stated on the quote before you commit to anything. It is waived on a single order of 10,000 pcs or more, and refunded if the same design reaches 10,000 pcs or more in total across several orders.
Can you speed things up for a fixed event date?
Rush production is available for an additional fee. Tell us the date the pieces have to be in your hands and we will confirm what is achievable before you pay.
4Shipping & Customs
What are your production and shipping lead times?
Production is 12–15 days as standard. Shipping to Europe and North America is 5–7 days by express (DHL, UPS, FedEx), 8–12 days by air freight and 25–40 days by sea. Rush production is available for an additional fee.
What is DDP, and is it what you quote?
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is what we usually quote. The price covers the product, international shipping and import duties in one figure. Once both sides agree to the DDP price, nothing is added later and you have no customs clearance to handle — the goods are delivered straight to the address you give us.
Who pays the import duties?
On a DDP quote, we do — the duties are already inside the price you approved. If you ask for EXW or FOB instead, duties and clearance move to your side, and we state that clearly on the quote.
Which countries do you ship to?
We ship to more than 50 countries. Express, air freight and sea freight are available to most destinations; give us the delivery address and we will confirm the options and the transit time.
How do I track my shipment?
We email you the carrier and the tracking number as soon as the goods leave the factory, and we follow the shipment until it is delivered.
Can I change the address or split the shipment?
Yes to both, as long as you tell us before the goods leave. We can split a bulk order across several addresses, or send it in stages to match an event schedule.
5Payment
What are your payment terms?
Orders of USD 1,000 or less: 100% prepayment by T/T, PayPal or credit card. Above USD 1,000: 30% deposit to start production, 70% balance before shipment, by T/T.
Which payment methods do you accept?
T/T bank transfer, PayPal and credit card. Larger orders are normally settled by T/T.
When does production actually start?
Production starts once the deposit has cleared and you have approved the pre-production sample. We confirm both in writing, so there is never any doubt about where the schedule begins.
Are there any charges added after I pay?
No. On a DDP quote the price covers the product, international shipping and import duties. We do not add taxes, VAT or handling fees afterwards — anything chargeable is on the quote before you pay.
Can I have a proforma invoice for my finance team?
Yes. Send us the company name, the billing address and any PO number that has to appear on it, and we will issue a proforma invoice with the quote.
What currency do you quote in?
US dollars by default. If you need the quote in another currency, tell us and we will confirm what we can do.
6Samples & Quality
Do you send a sample before mass production?
Yes. A pre-production sample is made from the final mold and sent for your approval. Nothing goes into mass production until you have signed it off.
How are the goods inspected before they ship?
Every order is inspected before packing. We support video inspection so you can see the pieces before they leave the factory, and we will work with a third-party inspection company if you use one.
What happens if there is a quality problem?
Send us photos or a short video. We rework, replace or refund. Report the issue within 7 days of delivery and it goes to the front of the queue.
What does the warranty cover?
We warrant the pieces for 3 months under normal use against manufacturing and plating defects. Normal wear and misuse are not covered; transit damage is handled separately.
What if the goods are damaged in transit?
We pack to survive the trip. If something arrives damaged, photograph the outer carton and the contents before unpacking any further and send the photos to us — we will arrange a replacement or a refund.
How do you keep the color consistent on a repeat order?
We archive the Pantone references, the plating recipe and the approved golden sample, and molds and 3D data are kept for five years. A reorder is matched against the golden sample, not against a photograph.
